Doctor home visits around Bab Aïlen
On the eastern side of the ramparts, we visit the area’s families and guesthouses, day and night.
Bab Aïlen opens the Médina to the east. Behind the gate, the area is mainly residential: family houses over several floors, a few guesthouses that are more discreet than around the souks, corner shops and neighbourhood bread ovens. Residents often live as extended families, with older relatives who rarely go out. Our doctor arrives along the boulevard that runs beside the wall, goes through the gate and continues on foot down the derb. A visit for an older parent, a feverish child, a blood test at home: describe the situation on the phone and we organise the rest.
Helping the doctor find you
- Say whether you live inside the ramparts or outside, near the gate.
- The outer boulevard is the easiest meeting point: say which side of Bab Aïlen to wait on.
- The family name on the doorbell or the colour of the door often says more than a number.
When should you call us?
- A bedridden older person who needs regular visits
- A blood test or care prescribed by your regular doctor, done at home
- Cough and fever in a young child in the evening
